General Secretariat holds second joint meeting between drug control agencies and representatives of health ministries in Arab countries

​Within the framework of implementing Decision No. 9 of the Council of Arab Health Ministers, issued during its 56th ordinary session on 24 March 2022, at the General Secretariat headquarters, which calls for unifying Arab efforts to combat drugs, the General Secretariat (Social Affairs Sector - Health and Humanitarian Aid Department, Technical Secretariat of the Council of Arab Health Ministers) is collaborating with the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers to enhance regional efforts.

Yemen signs the Agreement on Regulating the Transport of Goods by Land between Arab Countries

​​On 21 November the Republic of Yemen signed the Agreement on Regulating the Transport of Goods by Land between Arab Countries at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States. This agreement was approved by the Economic and Social Council through Resolution No. 1916, ordinary session 89 dated 29 February 2012, and subsequently endorsed by the Council of the League of Arab States through Resolution No. 7551, ordinary session 138 dated 5 September 2012.

​​Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, concluded on 19 November the organization’s inaugural participation in the G20 Summit, held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on 18–19 November. The summit, convened under the theme "Building a Just World and a Sustainable Planet," brought together heads of state and government from G20 member countries alongside numerous other nations and international organisations.
