He described the decision as absurd, politically bankrupt, and an insult to humanitarian and human rights efforts on an international level.

League's Secretary-General lauds ICJ ruling regarding illegality of occupation

	18/07/2024 Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, congratulated Ambassador Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, Assistant Secretary-General and head of the Social Affairs Sector, on receiving this year’s United Nations Population Award. This recognition honours her distinguished contributions to addressing population, women's, and social development issues in her homeland of Jordan and through the League of Arab States. It also acknowledges her efforts in enhancing cooperation between the League and the United Nations in these areas.

Aboul Gheit condemns Knesset's declaration rejecting the establishment of Palestinian State
	18/07/2024 Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit strongly condemned the declaration issued by the Knesset on 18 July, which rejects the establishment of a Palestinian state. He emphasised that this declaration and its false justifications reveal the true intentions of the Israeli occupation towards the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights, particularly their right to an independent state on land occupied since 4 June 1967.

General Secretariat condemns criminal attack on Mogadishu coffeehouse
	16/07/2024 The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States vehemently condemned the criminal attack on a crowded coffeehouse in Mogadishu, Somalia, on 14 July which resulted in numerous casualties and injuries. The Secretariat denounced this cowardly act aimed at destabilising the federal government and instilling fear in civilians.

Arab League condemns shooting in Muscat
	16/07/2024 The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States condemned the shooting at Wadi Al-Kabir area in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, on the evening of 15 July, which resulted in several casualties and injuries, including a policeman.

	13/07/2024 The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, welcomed His Excellency President Aleksandar Vučić, President of the Republic of Serbia, at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo on 13 July.
