| League Council delegates hold extraordinary session to tackle means to stop Israeli aggression against Palestine |

At its extraordinary session held on 4 July, the Council of the League of Arab States at the level of permanent delegates discussed the continued and escalating brutal Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in all cities, camps, and villages, including the ongoing brutal Israeli aggression against Jenin camp and other areas in the occupied West Bank. The meeting tackled ways of effective action at the Arab and international levels to stop this Israeli aggression, hold the perpetrators accountable, and provide international protection for the Palestinian people. Chaired by Ambassador Mohamed Mustafa Orfi, Permanent Representative of the Arab Republic of Egypt (presidency of the 159th session), the meeting was attended by permanent delegates and heads of delegations. Ambassador Dr. Muhammad Al-Amin Ould Akik, Assistant Secretary-General, and head of Legal Affairs Department, was also present at the meeting. The meeting was held at the request of the State of Palestine and in coordination with the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, pursuant to the provisions of Article 5, paragraph (5/b) of the League Council's bylaws, which allows the Council to meet in an extraordinary session at the request of two-member states.

On 10 May 2023, the Council of the League of Arab States at the level of permanent delegates held a resumed session to deliberate over the persistent Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people. The council was presided over by the current Chair of the Ministerial Council, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and featured the attendance of the permanent representatives and heads of delegations. The meeting was convened in accordance with Statement No. 251, issued by the extraordinary meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States at the level of Permanent Representatives on 5 April 2023. The statement called for the council to remain in resumed session to monitor the latest advancements in Israeli aggression. The Arab Republic of Egypt, in coordination with the Permanent Mission of the State of Palestine and the Permanent Mission of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, made the request to hold this meeting. On 23 February 2023, the Council of the League of Arab States convened an extraordinary session at the level of its Permanent Representatives upon the request of the State of Palestine, which garnered unanimous support from all Arab countries. The convocation was held to deliberate on the collective Arab and international efforts required to counter the cruel Israeli aggression on the city of Nablus and the occupied Palestinian territories, and to appeal for the provision of international protection for the Palestinian people. The meeting was chaired by the State of Libya, and attended by His Excellency Ambassador Hossam Zaki, the Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, alongside the Permanent Representatives and heads of delegations. The council paid homage to the martyrs with a moment of silence. The meeting culminated in the issuance of the ensuing resolutions:
